This Saturday, we'll have a waltz session from 7:00 to 7:45, come and enjoy some great music in 3/4 time! At 7:45, there will be an intro-refresher lesson for contra dance, and then...3 hours of wonderful tunes and great contra dances, with a short break about 9:30. Waltz and contra tunes will be played by Oliver Scanlon, Tristan Henderson and Stuart Kenney--another all-star band. Calling (and teaching the lesson) will be Liz Nelson, known for her cheerful and positive attitude and clear calling.
Come in time to change or clean your shoes by 7:00 to get in on all the waltzing--we ask for $5 each if you come to waltz. For the contra dancing, choose the price that matches you--$12 for regular adult-type people, $5 for kids or low-income people, or $20 if you want to help us pay the band, caller and sound really well! Part of the mission of the volunteer organizers is to pay the folks on the stage well for their talents and hard work.
