During challenging times like these, community is more important than ever! While not everyone can step in to help with flood recovery efforts, there are other important ways you can help support your community. Volunteering as a Meals on Wheels driver is a great example!
You're invited to a Meals on Wheels Volunteer Open House on July 25, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Waterbury Area Senior Center (WASCA). Meet with volunteers, the WASCA, and Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA) staff to find out about volunteer roles and learn about how volunteering could fit into your schedules. Volunteer positions are flexible, and we can work around your availability.
If being a driver isn't right for you, we have other opportunities within the Center, including:
Kitchen helper - helps with food preparation, cleaning, and other everyday tasks.
Server – serves lunch to seniors and guests on busy days and helps with clean up.
There are also opportunities for being involved with fundraising events and programing activities!
As one of our volunteers said "There's a sense of comradery and of doing something to make the world a better place…" We couldn't agree more and hope to see you there!
