Tataki Zomé - Flower Pounding Workshop

Past event
Aug 7, 2024, 6 to 7:30 PM

tataki zomé
hapa zomé
flower pounding

just a few names by which this slow art is referred to

tataki (hammering)
zomé (dyeing)
isn't an aggressive action though, it's more of a pushing, nurturing, encouraging the flower or leaf to leave behind a pigmented print.
too harsh of a movement and it will become a blob

this art, like all things with nature cannot be rushed ✨

on Wednesday August 7th I invite you to join me @stowecider from 6-7:30 to create botanical prints on beautiful deckled paper.
we will be using the technique of tataki zomé 🌸🌿
with this paper you can create bookmarks, cards or you could even take home to frame your new pieces of botanical art.

this playful evening includes 3 pieces of deckled paper, fresh flowers/ supplies for the evening, and 1 ticket for a beverage from the bar (na drinks available like rookies Rootbeer)

no experience required
open to kiddos too, I just ask they be joined by their adult✨

if you feel called please bring any flowers or leaves you love if you want to explore with them🌿

cost is $55
