Do you wonder what bees may be buzzing around your garden or yard? Come join the Insect Walk at the Krusch Preserve on Saturday July 27th at 9:00 am with expert bee biologist Spencer Hardy of Vermont Center for Ecostudies.
For the past 4+ years, Spencer has traversed the state chasing bees and trying to better understand the status of these incredible insects in Vermont. We now know there are more than 350 species here and we have assigned conservation rankings to most of them, but many questions remain. While some species are very challenging to identify, more than 100 species can be identified in the field – we can expect to find several species of bumble bees as well as examples of five of the six bee families on the property.
Meet at the Krusch Preserve Entrance at 9:00 in the parking lot, 316 North Cambridge Road.
