This 2007 Tony award-nominated musical about following your dreams despite the limitations that others set for you, will be presented by The Deerfield Valley Players, a community theatre group, at 7:30 pm on August 14,15,16, and 17 at Memorial Hall, 14 West Main Street, Wilmington, Vermont.
It features an unconventional campy story that blends the golden age of 1940s musicals and 1980s new wave sound. Mythological Greek muses come to life after being sketched by a surfer/dude sidewalk artist in Venice, California.
XANADU is a comedy jukebox musical adapted for the stage from the 1980s movie of the same name. While the film was a box office flop, the Broadway musical is an absolute gem full of 1980s cheesy dialogue, with characters whirling around in a roller disco, and a pop sound track for a 90 minute fan favorite show.
Tickets will be available at events.com and also at Bartleby's Book Store in Wilmington. Adults – $18 and students – $12.
