Dummerston Historical Society Meeting & Program

Past event
Jul 18, 2024, 7 to 9 PM

Joe Cook, Bicyclist, and Roger Turner, Photographer, will present programs at the Dummerston Historical Society this week. The Society's quarterly meeting will be held on Thursday, July 18, at 7 pm at the Society's Schoolhouse in Dummerston Center, at which time Joe Cook will present a program on his bicycling adventures. A short business meeting will precede Joe's presentation.

You may know Joe as an attorney (or a banker before that) but did you know he is also an avid bicyclist? While he will focus mainly on his successful thirty five year quest to pedal the 4,500 miles of Vermont's paved roads and its 1,000 miles of dirt roads, he will also share stories of his biking adventures throughout the United States and Europe.

On Sunday, July 21, from 1-3 pm, there will be an opening reception to highlight Roger Turner's photographs on display with a presentation by Roger at 1:30 pm.

DHS is open the first and third Sundays of the month from 1-3 pm. The Society's schoolhouse is located in Dummerston Center next to the town office. Admission is free though donation are welcome! One does not need to be a member to attend any of its activities, the building is handicapped accessible and all are welcome. Info: Gail at 802-254-9311 or gailsvt@gmail.com
