Kindergarten Reading Readiness Fun- Calling all incoming kindergarteners; come play with sounds at the library! Using the Sounds Abound Program and fun picture books students will explore activities, songs, and games to teach phonological awareness. Acquisition of phonological awareness is the single, most important factor in learning to read and spell. Each week will feature a different skill; rhyming, syllables and phonemes. Children must be enrolled in kindergarten for the fall and caregivers will drop off children for this hour long program, four week program (meets July 26, Aug.2, 16 & 23). Limited to 10 kids. Sign-up required - email info@centenniallibrary.org. Ideally, children would attend all four weeks, but it is not necessary.
