Hi Japanese Knotweed Warriors,
I'm organizing a concerted JKW eradication effort and potluck on Sunday afternoon.
We'll meet at the Brewster River Park parking lot (near the covered bridge) at 2pm, and plan to be back by 5pm.
Where we go will depend on how many people show up.
If you know of specific places with stands of this pesky invasive, please let me know. We won't be able to tackle them all, but it will be good to get a sense of the scale of the problem. Let's not allow Cambridge get like Stowe, which barely has any native plants along its roads/rivers as they have all be displaced by JKW.
Please bring any tools (e.g. forks, shovels, shears, loppers etc), sturdy footwear, water, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Also bring something for the potluck, your own plate and cutlery, and your swimming things. And please bring your friends and neighbours, and share this invitation widely.
Please RSVP if possible.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Sara
