The Lemon Fair Insect Control District will host its Annual Open House on from 10 AM to 3 PM, on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Field Lab/Office directly behind the Weybridge Congregational Church, 2790 Weybridge Rd. aka Rte. 23. Come learn about how the mosquito season is going for the three towns of Cornwall, Weybridge and Bridport. You can also learn how to reduce mosquitoes on your property without the use of chemical pesticides. You'll get to meet our two college interns and learn about the work they have been doing this Summer. Past Middlebury College interns have worked with the LFICD on maps of Phases I & II of the Lemon Fair River, which will be on display. Phase III, centered on the Cornwall Swamp, is currently under way. We'll have the microscopes set up and you'll be able to observe both odd and fascinating features of mosquitoes.

Attention Farmers! The VAA F&M will be showcasing their new "Tire Sidewall Cutter" and demonstrating its use. The sidewalls are still heavy enough to weigh down tarps, but won't create the puddling habitat that certain mosquitoes depend on.

Refreshments will be available and prizes will be given.
