On July 17, 2024, The Cambridge Historical Society and Museum invites you to join in a frolicking evening of 19th century entertainment with shadow theater and more. The program starts at 7:00 pm. All are invited.
Narrator, Jared Towler; performance artist, Heather Boyne; and puppet builder and curator, Susannah White; will craft a performance with shadow puppets with the poetry of A.A. Milne. There will also be a dramatic showing of a newsreel of "The Fire of 1884" in their crankie theater. Stay for a rare glimpse of the museum's oldest artifact as well as a quilt that has been under construction for over 100 years.
Feel free to bring your favorite treasure to share.
The program will be held on the first floor of the museum— accessible to all. After the program, refreshments will be served on the porch for some good old fashion porch sitting and conversation—another 19th century activity!
Suggested donation for Show and Tell: $0-10.
The House opens at 6:00 pm for tours ahead of the program.
