VT Historical Society Oral History Project

Past event
Aug 8, 2024, 9 AM to 4 PM

The Vermont Historical Society has received federal funding to conduct oral histories documenting the experience of COVID-19 in the state of Vermont. One of our project field interviewers will be in Brattleboro and able to meet with people on August 8.

We would like to interview people across Vermont about their experiences over the past several years. Our core guiding question will be – "what was the experience of COVID-19 like for you?" All experiences are valid and sought. If you have something to share, we would like to hear it.

The interviews will be transcribed and made part of a public database hosted at the Vermont Historical Society, available for future researchers and part of our larger archive documenting the experiences of COVID-19.

In 2025, we will also work with the interview database to publish an oral history of COVID-19 in Vermont and an accompanying podcast.

You can learn more about our project at our landing page here: https://vermonthistory.org/collecting-covid-19/ If you are willing to sit down and talk about your experiences, or if you have any questions about the project, you can reach out to project director Amanda Gustin at the Vermont Historical Society by email: amanda.gustin@vermonthistory.org.
