The Eleva Chamber Players, Central Vermont’s only professional string chamber orchestra (based in Waterbury/Duxbury) presents Old World-inspired folk music by Vermont composers, plus a rare performance of African Suite, by Nigerian composer, Fela Sowande. Program includes Paul Perley,’s Bass Dance, Dennis Bathory Kitsz's Hungarian Folk Songs, and Michael Close’s Scottish Folk Songs. The finale is Sowande’s African Suite for Strings & Harp.
