There will be a Planning Meeting for the Burke Fall Festival on Monday, July 15th at 5pm at the Burke Mountain Club, 368 Route 114, East Burke.
This is the 35th year for the event! The festival is Saturday, September 28th (It is always the last Saturday in September). The festival is hosted by the Burke Chamber and is a huge amount of work to put together so we need lots of people to volunteer and help make it happen. If you can help, please plan to attend the meeting.
If you can't attend the meeting, but would like to volunteer, just email burkechamber@burkevermont.com and we'll find something for you to do!
Some things to think about:
The theme for the parade
Parade Grand Marshall
2024 Burke Citizen of the Year suggestions
The Citizen of the Year award is given to someone who lives and/or works in Burke and quietly gives back to the community in various ways such as volunteering for local groups, serving on boards, etc. The award is always a surprise for the recipient. Past winners include Gail Weed, Wayne and Brian Greer, Dave and Judi Kerrigan, Tammy Wagner, Abby Long, Des Hertz, Tim Tierney, Joe Kasprzak, Chris Emmons, Tracie Surridge. Think of someone who flies under the radar and gives back without expecting recognition. You can feel free to email your suggestion(s) to burkechamber@burkevermont.com if you can't attend the meeting.
We hope to see many of you on the 15th!
