The Country Club Road (CCR) Actionable Plan calls for a public process for determining the use of the reserved 12 acre recreation and community zone. To fulfill this next step, the City is launching a public process for community feedback and hear priorities for the future of a Community Center within the City. We have contracted with a firm called Power Wellness to lead this effort. In July, Power Wellness will be holding focus groups with stakeholders and community organizations, and a series of a public inputs sessions in the style of the Country Club Road Community Meetings with one fully in-person, one hybrid, and one fully remote option. The first public input session will take place on July 11th at 4:00 pm at 203 Country Club Road. We will announce the date, time, and location of the next two meetings at the first meeting on July 11th.
Please stay tuned to the City's website for updates on this process here: https://www.montpelier-vt.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=552. Power Wellness will meet with the Montpelier Recreation Department, the School Department, Adult Sports Organizations, Hospital and Health Care providers, Youth Sports Organizations, the HUB, and local businesses at part of this community engagement process. In addition, staff are obtaining updated cost information on work previously conducted by Breadloaf to renovate the existing recreation facility. Staff will use input from this process to develop concept plans and make recommendations for resource allocation.
