VOCA, in association with the Halifax Cemetery Restoration Team and the Halifax VT Cemetery Commission will be sponsoring another restoration work day at our Taylor Stacy Cemetery. We will be there restoring a fallen monument and straightening and cleaning most of the Headstones in this fairly small and secluded Private Cemetery. It is an old cemetery behind and to the left of the garage on the property. The property address is actually in Halifax but the mailing address is listed as Brattleboro.
We will be supplying most of the tools and all cleaning solutions needed to have a successful work day. If you are so inclined, bring a shovel , rake or a soft bristle brush for cleaning the marble stones.
Last year we had several adjoining town participants who benefited from a brief instructional meeting in the beginning of the event.
It is a very rewarding project that helps preserve the towns cemeteries, all 23 of them.
You can E-mail me with any questions about the day.
We will be having a small lunch after the event for the participants at the Halifax Community Hall at 20 Brook Rd in West Halifax. Rest rooms will be available at the Hall.
On behalf of the Halifax Cemetery Commission, The Vermont Old Cemetery Association and the Halifax Cemetery Restoration Team, I want to thank you in advance for your participation.
