The new Craftsbury Chamber Players season begins with the glorious String Quartet no. 21 in D major, K575 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and conclude is Robert Schumann's Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, op. 44, one of the greatest and most expressive works in the chamber music literature. Nestled between are Charles Martin Loeffler's wonderful 2 Rhapsodies for oboe, viola and piano (1901). Loeffler was educated in Berlin before emigrating to the United States, where he served for a time as the assistant concertmaster of the Boston Symphony before devoting himself full time to composing. All of our summer concerts will take place at the Elley-Long Music Center at Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester at 7:30pm with a pre-concert chat at 6:45pm. A reception will follow to enjoy refreshments and meet the players. There will be a repeat performance at the Hardwick Town House on Thursday, July 11th. Tickets are available at the door at $25 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. FREE TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR CHECKOUT AT ALL OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN CHITTENDEN COUNTY.
