What: A Weeklong Drama Camp for All Kids, ages 7-16
Where: St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 146 N. Main St, Fair Haven, VT
When: July 22-28, 9am-3pm Monday-Friday; 9am-11am Saturday; 9am-11am Sunday

Concept: This is a one-week camp run by St. Luke's for all children to experience acting and singing in an ecumenical telling of the Old Testament story of Esther. It is a story of personal courage in the face of overwhelming odds.

Malice in the Palace is the story of Esther as re-told by Tom S. Long and Allen Pote in prose and song, adding a bit of humor to the faithful telling of the Old Testament events surrounding the capture of the Israelites by the Persians and the ultimate saving of the Jewish people by the courage of Queen Esther.

The camp is held from 9am-3pm, Monday - Friday, July 22-26. The campers bring a snack and a bag lunch each day. Drinks are provided. After lunch, the campers go on supervised activities within the region, such as bowling, picnicking, Six Flags, etc.

On Saturday, July 27, there is a dress rehearsal from 9-11am. The campers are dismissed at 11am until 5:30pm when they return for make-up and present the play to their parents and guests at 6:30 PM. Following the play presentation, refreshments for the actors and guests will be served.

On Sunday, July 28, the actors will present the play as part of the 9:30 AM service of the church.

All rehearsals are held at St Luke's, 146 N. Main St, Fair Haven.

The Director is June Hale, Director of Music at St. Luke's. Ms. Hale has over 40 years of experience in public and private schools and churches as a music teacher, choral director, organist, and theater director.

This event is the third in a series of drama camps at St. Luke's.

The cost of the camp is $100. per child (with a reduced cost for more than one child in a family.) The fee covers all tuition and afternoon activities. Scholarships are available. No one is excluded due to financial hardship.

We will need additional drivers/chaperones to transport children to the activities. To be a designated driver/chaperone one will need proof of vehicle insurance.

Registration will be held at the church on Monday, July 22, at 8 AM.
For more information or to pre-register, call June Hale, 203-500-2796.
