Members of the Manhattan Chamber Players' cello quintet will perform (as a duo, a trio and a string quartet) selected works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, namely Mozart's Duo for Violin and Viola in G major, Mozart's Theme and Variations from Divertimento for String Trio in Eb major, and Mozart's Divertimento for String Quartet in D major, and then – following an intermission – the MCP's cello quintet (two violins, viola, and two cellos) will perform Franz Schubert's string quintet in C major, generally regarded as Schubert's finest chamber work as well as one of the greatest compositions in all of chamber music.
This should be a wonderful evening of music!
Tickets at the door: $22. Students and children under 18: free.
