ORSC Club Day Saturday July 6th at Vermont College of Fine Arts from 10am-400pm. Club Day is free and open to anyone who is interested. Please invite a friend or two who may be interested in playing with ORSC next year. We will be following up after Club Day for commitments to the 2025 season.

Onion River Soccer Club has been serving the greater Montpelier and Central Vermont region for 30 years as a volunteer run, community based organization providing a variety of soccer opportunities for girls and boys ages 6-16. The purpose of Club Day is to provide a fun, festive environment for families to sign up for the upcoming Soccer season that begins with certain offerings in January of 2025 extending into summer. Club Day also serves the purpose of identifying the level of players to help in creating the structure and organization of the teams as well as finding coaches well in advance for the teams that the Club will field in the 2025 season.
Who: Current and New players ages 6-15 are invited to attend. Cleats, shin guards and a water bottle required.
What: Onion River Club Day. Each age group will have 1 hour for coaches to run skill drills and games. Free to all families.
When: Saturday July 6th from 10-4.
Where: ORSC's home field on the green at the Vermont College of Fine arts in Montpelier.
Why: ORSC is actively looking to increase enrollment for the 2025 season for several reasons.
Firstly, expanding offerings to families in age and developmentally appropriate environments benefits the learning environments for the players. By identifying players at this time of year for the upcoming 2025 season, the club can organize teams and look to fill open slots and identify the coaches early on which will create a more organized and better executed season for the players and families. It will also allow ORSC to identify what other opportunities to offer in addition to the standard Spring season. For instance, winter indoor training, futsal, and tournament opportunities that are appropriate for the groups early on to allow families to plan for these opportunities well in advance. This will all lead to a more cohesive and well organized experience for players and families.

It takes a lot of work to run a volunteer organization and I realized this year just how much time and effort it takes. We need more support to help ORSC with basic needs and to keep this cool soccer club going for another 30 years! We have needs for coaches, field maintenance/set up, indoor facilities rentals, website maintenance, uniform ordering, coach/player training development, fundraising, equipment management, communication, player recruitment, Club Day and other things as needed.
