Join me at the Peace and Justice Center's event honoring Migrant Justice/Justicia Migrante with the Ed Everts Social Justice Activist Award at the beautiful Main Street Landing Train Station, Burlington. Special guest Julia Alvarez, acclaimed author and poet, best known for her novels In the Time Of the Butterflies and How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents, will offer a reading and Alejandro & Grupo Sabor will provide live music. Migrant Justice is dedicated to building the voice, capacity, and power of the migrant farm worker community in Vermont.
The event starts at 7:00 on November 15th. The award presentation and Ms. Alvarez’s reading with be followed by a night of music and dancing.
