The skies are clearing at last! Come join fellow astronomers as the Northeast Kingdom Astronomy Foundation hosts a star party at the Northern Skies Observatory in Peacham on Saturday, July 6!
Mid summer constellations and deep sky objects will be our targets, and we may even get some aurora sightings! The moon will be barely past new, so we should have dark skies, and we're looking forward to seeing lots of things! Because we just passed the solstice, it won't start getting dark until 9:30 PM, with real darkness at 10:30 PM.
Bug spray is a good idea and dress warmly - it cools down when the sun sets. Park in the Peacham school lot. Please leave flashlights at home - the driveway is lit for the walk up to the observatory.
