Don't miss this celebration! On August 3rd from 10:00-2:00, the Friends of Tucker Mountain and the Newbury Historical Society will host Abenaki Day. Learn about the People of the Dawn Land who lived here for thousands of years before the arrival of European settlers and honor their history and culture. Experience drumming, samples of Abenaki food, bead craft, basket-making, pit cooking, and meet Abenaki chiefs. Visit a wigwam, enjoy live music with Abenaki musician Bryan Blanchette, and more. Lots of fun for all ages. Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket or chairs for your comfort.
The celebration is at the East Parking Area of the Tucker Mountain Town Forest (1576 Tucker Mountain Road).
