CLASS ONE: Introduction to Tenkara Style Fly Fishing 1-4 P.M., Saturday, July 20th. *Maximum 6 Participants*
Tenkara fishing is traditionally a Japanese style of fishing using a rod with a fixed length of line- no reel. This style of fishing traditionally takes place on small to medium sized streams. The limitations actually offer several advantages- which we'll discuss in class. Participants are encouraged to bring a Tenkara rod if possible. There will be a limited number of rods, which can be shared if needed.
Location: Class will be held on the Ridley Brook accessed from the Duxbury Land Trust property, located at the junction of River Road at Camel's Hump Road in North Duxbury.
CLASS TWO: Introduction to Fly Fishing 5-7 P.M., Saturday, July 20th. *Maximum 10 participants* Class will be held on the Winooski River from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. We'll cover the basics of equipment, flies and fly selection, and a few different casts used to get your fly to the fish. Limited rod/reel combos can be provided, so participants are encouraged to bring their own gear, if possible.
Meeting Location: Meet at the Duxbury Land Trust property, located at the junction of River Road at Camel's Hump Road in North Duxbury.
REGISTRATION: Contact Janet Bisbee at janet.bisbee@gmail.com or (651) 788-2868 to register.
