UP for Learning and the Vermont Agency of Education are hosting a series of youth dialogues to explore the experiences and perspectives of students currently in 8th-12th grade around issues of school safety.
This event will include opportunities for reflection and conversation around topics like what it means to be safe at school, how school safety impacts learning, and what factors contribute to a sense of safety. These conversations aim to elevate youth voices in decisions around school safety policy and practice. The insights and information gathered from the dialogues will be shared at the 2024 Governor's School Safety Conference, as well as in a short documentary film and written report.
Registration is required. Vermont youth entering grades 8-12 are invited to participate by registering at the event link.
