On Sunday, please come join your neighbors for family-friendly outdoor fun at the first Braintree Bluegrass Brunch of summer 2024.
The Braintree Bluegrass Brunches take place, rain or shine, on the final Sundays in June, July and August. These events feature live music, bike rides, art, food and beverages, all amidst the spectacular surroundings of the Braintree Hill Meetinghouse at 1845 Braintree Hill Road.
A group bike ride organized and led by the Ridgeline Outdoor Collective departs at 10 am, to return in time for live music at noon. The Braintree Historical Society Museum, located on the ground floor of the Meetinghouse, will be open throughout the day. Food and beverage vendors will be onsite along with select craft vendors. Kids activities start at 11 am with fun for the whole family.
Music for the June 30th event will be provided by the double bill of Audrey Mae and Bow Thayer's Choirs of Aether.
Performing at 12:00 PM, Audrey Mae features the duet harmonies of bluegrass veterans Peter Winne and Joe Delillo accompanied by the tasteful stylings of banjo player Joe Lemeris and fiddle and mandolin player Sam McDougle.
At 1:30 PM , Bow Thayer takes the stage with Choirs of Aether. featuring Krishna Guthrie (multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, great-grandson of Woody, grandson of Arlo) and Steve Ferraris (percussionist for Sun Ra, Michael Ray and the Cosmic Krewe, Mike Gordon, and many others).
