On June 26 at 6:15 p.m., every elementary school in our district will host a forum. Each forum will feature two Board members and an Administrator ready to listen to your input. If you cannot attend in person, we will organize an online forum on another date, which will be July 2 at 6:30 pm. Here is the link for the July 2 virtual meeting : https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84629369470?pwd=BRT0ZX1Yeai1eHpQeuacahMYYfCCvW.1
These forums are just the beginning. We will have a survey available from June 26 to July 12 to gather further feedback.
Our reconfiguration planning focuses on key priorities: optimizing class sizes, maintaining full-time nursing and counseling, expanding enrichment in arts, music, and world languages, and limiting shared and part-time staff across buildings. We want your feedback on these priorities and any other suggestions you might have.
We hope these forums will update you on our timeline and allow you to share your thoughts on how the district can better support our students and families. We are committed to understanding what the community might lose or gain with fewer schools in our district.
Please review the following documents before the meeting: Strategic Plans and Core Beliefs, Configuration Priorities, Enrollment Slides, and an initial draft of Frequently Asked Questions: https://www.wcuusd.org/fs/resource-manager/view/4eae2e05-391a-485c-9f29-c0055d992112
We urge you to attend a forum and share your thoughts. What concerns do you have about potential changes? What might we have missed? As Board members, we are dedicated to ensuring any new configuration benefits our students and families. We are here to listen and respond thoughtfully to your input.
Respectfully,
Your School Board
