The Annual 4th of July Celebration in Cabot, VT returns this year on Thursday, July 4, 2024, and features the Cabot 4th of July Parade stepping off at 11 am. The parade runs down Main Street through the village of Cabot.
The parade, organized by the Cabot Fire Department, will include the usual array of entries including the giant puppets, horses, tractors, fire trucks and emergency rigs, musical performers, and more. Due to the flood last year, there are a few changes to the parade. Parade line up starts at 9 am until -10:30 am at the temporary Cabot Volunteer Fire Department, 137 South Walden Rd, Cabot, VT. The parade has a reverse route this year from the temporary Fire Department, at 137 South Walden Rd, to the Cabot Creamery.
Community judges will score parade entries to award four $50 cash prizes to the entries chosen in the following categories - Cheesiest, most Historic, most Patriotic and Judge's Choice. All participants must register and pre-registration is appreciated. The parade participation form is available at https://www.cabotchronicle.org or on site on July 4.
In addition to the parade Cabot is hosting the following activities, starting at:
- 8 am - Annual rummage sale in the Cabot School Gym,
- 9 am the Friends of the Cabot Library host their annual book sale and food vendors and village businesses will be open,
- 10 am the Cabot Historical Society will be open.
Following the parade until 2 pm on the Cabot Common, parade spectators can stay in town for:
Family activities and inflatables, a variety of food vendors and live Music with Barry Hayes.
Parking lots available on Elm Street and Whittier Hill Road. Parking will also be available on some village roads, but please obey all no parking signs.
