Hi Folks,
Thursday evening at 5:30 we're getting together at Green Mountain Tech in Hyde Park to screen a PBS documentary that will air this winter. It's called Raising of America .
There will be a panel discussion moderated by the Lamoille Family Center's Scott Johnson, and a talk by Pediatrician Sarayu Balu - the short panel discussion includes Judy Geer from Concept 2 and the Craftbury Outdoor Center, Lauren Philie speaking as a parent, and Kristin Moodie and Nicole Walker who are childcare professionals from Stowe and Morrisville - it should finish up by 7:15 or so.
It's an exciting time for young children as neurology research is showing conclusively that our whole lives are really determined by the quality of our early development - by early childhood care. With 74 percent of families having both parents working, it's even more important that we pay attention to kids!
Hope to see you in Hyde Park Thursday evening! It will have been dark already for HOURS by then, btw... !
