The Bennington Rotary Club in conjunction with the Bennington Monument will present the 11th Annual Bell Ringing ceremony.
The day will begin at the Monument with the reading of the Declaration of Independence by colonial re-enactors, Mike and Phyllis Chapman. Also, there will be a musket drill conducted by the recreated Green Mountain Boys. Everyone is invited to join in a car parade that will travel down to the Town Offices.
Once assembled, Rotarians will ring the ship's bell from the USS Bennington , once for each of the 13 original colonies. The honorary bell ringer, this year, will be the Bennington Fire Department which will ring for Vermont.
The public will then have the opportunity to ring the bell.
