VT Cares will present about what harm reduction is and the importance of harm reduction techniques in decreasing the negative consequences of substance misuse and to potentially save lives. We will learn why the state of Vermont has made harm reduction a key strategy in addressing addiction, and we will discuss how it can benefit individuals as well as local communities. Following the presentation, Orange County Restorative Justice Center will facilitate a community dialogue about this topic.
The Orange County Restorative Justice Center (OCRJC), in collaboration with the Chelsea Health Center Board of Trustees, Clara Martin Center and VT Cares, is hosting Chelsea community members to join in learning and discussion about substance misuse in our community.
In February, the Chelsea Health Center Board of Trustees approached OCRJC to organize an opportunity for community conversation about the impacts of substance use in Chelsea. We hope to explore how our community can respond to this challenge and come together to support each other and those impacted.
We welcome members of the Chelsea community to participate. Light refreshments will be provided.
These meetings are supported by our community partners—First Branch Ambulance Service, Safeline, SafeArt and the Gifford Medical Center.
