Newport will be hosting 200 open water swimmers on Lake Memphremagog at the end of July. They all need escort kayakers during their swim. Most bring their own. We have a few who ask us to provide a volunteer. We have filled most requests but still have a few in need in the 3, 6, and 10 mile distances. We pay stipends ranging from $100 to $300 depending on distance to help cover expenses. We can make kayaks available for your use during the day. Friday afternoon, we participate in the Memphremagog Parade and enjoy a Swimmer and Yacker Pasta Dinner at The EastSide Restaurant, BBQ lunch on Prouty Beach following the swim is provided by Freddy's BBQ.
