This discussion will center around how substance use impacts a family (of origin or choice) and the loved ones working to support the person who is struggling. We will cover ways that family and friends can support their loved one, resources for people who want to help the person they care about, and how to practice self-care while supporting a person with substance use. Following the presentation, Orange County Restorative Justice Center will facilitate a community dialogue about this topic.
The Orange County Restorative Justice Center (OCRJC), in collaboration with the Chelsea Health Center Board of Trustees, Clara Martin Center and VT Cares, is hosting Chelsea community members to join in learning and discussion about substance misuse in our community.
In February, the Chelsea Health Center Board of Trustees approached OCRJC to organize an opportunity for community conversation about the impacts of substance use in Chelsea. We hope to explore how our community can respond to this challenge and come together to support each other and those impacted.
