Second Thursday Lecture Series: "For Enduring Peace We Need Civil Rights" Vermont and the Civil Rights Movement
Pamela Walker, our speaker tonight, is an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Vermont. Her work examines motherhood, activism, benevolence, and political consciousness in 1960s-era social movement networks. Join us for a riveting historical lecture illuminating the overlooked role of Pacifist Vermont women in the civil rights movement, and the connections they forged across race, class and distance with rural Black women in the Mississippi Delta.
