Join the Cabot Conservation Committee on June 20, 6 pm, in the Willey Building auditorium, to hear about and become involved in the second phase of our natural communities and ecological natural resource inventory. In 2020, many Cabot landowners welcomed Matt Peters, consulting ecologist from Woodbury, to explore their properties for interesting and unique natural communities. We had such a positive response that not all properties could be visited. Phase 2 will allow Matt to get out to more properties.
This presentation will provide an overview and slide presentation of the goals of the inventory, with a brief review of findings from the first phase. Slides will be followed by an interactive map session, with large maps on display, to solicit community knowledge of important natural features that should be included in the inventory, such as rich, old or unusual forests, fens, bogs, forested swamps vernal pools, notable wildlife sightings and more.
Pizza and other refreshments will be served at 6 pm, followed by a presentation at 6:30.
