Nancy Crochiere's debut novel, Graceland (2023) was named a top summer read by Parade, Woman's World, and Deep South Magazines. Prior to writing fiction, Nancy was a family-humor columnist for Massachusetts newspapers for 13 years and collected her essays into the book The Mother Load. With her two daughters now grown, Nancy lives north of Boston with her husband and, in her spare time, acts as an extra in TV shows and movies. You can catch her staring unabashedly at Bradley Cooper's backside in the movie Joy.
Graceland is the humorous and heartwarming story of a mother-daughter-grandmother road trip/chase from Boston to Memphis. When single mom Hope Robinson discovers that her Elvis-obsessed mother and pink-haired teenage daughter have taken off together for Graceland, she realizes the duo are about to reveal a long-held secret and must race to Memphis to stop them. Along the way, the three women encounter aging soap-stars, Elvis impersonators, and free-range ferrets, but ultimately find they're on the road to acceptance, forgiveness, and grace.
Copies of the book will be available from Bear Pond Books at the event.
