The Memphremagog Watershed Association (MWA) & Essex County Natural Resources Conservation District (ECNRCD) invite you to attend a stakeholder engagement meeting in support of the Averill Lakes Watershed Action Plan (LWAP).
This 2-hour public meeting will be a chance to get introduced to the LWAP Team members – including staff from MWA, ECNRCD, Averill Lakes Association, ARCO, and other Averill watershed stakeholders. The goal of the meeting is stakeholder engagement, information sharing, and open discussion about the local knowledge of and concerns for water quality and aquatic habitat of Great & Little Averill.
The agenda includes:
Introduction to the Lake Watershed Action Plan process, goals & objectives, timeline, & anticipated outcomes
Overview of the Watershed Data Library
Presentation on the custom Averill watershed GIS web map
Review of the Averill watershed information clearinghouse
Discussion of the proposed target areas for stream, roadway, & lakeshore field assessments
Sign-up lists for Lake Wise Assessments
Primary "co-benefits" for watershed restoration projects
Q&A / open dialogue to share background information, watershed history & context, etc.
The meeting will be held at Jackson's Lodge on Sunday June 30, 2024 from 10AM-12PM. There will be no virtual option as the goal of this meeting is to encourage physical attendance and participation!
We are very grateful to Jackson's Lodge for offering us their beautiful space so that we can host this important first step in the LWAP development process!
