As part of the series "Menu for the Future" we will be watching the film "The Power of Community." "When Cuba lost access to Soviet oil in the early 1990s, the country faced an immediate crisis -- feeding the population -- and an ongoing challenge: how to create a new low-energy society. Cuba transitioned from large, fossil-fuel intensive farming to small, less energy-intensive organic farm and urban gardens, and from a highly industrial society to a more sustainable one." - from the movie case.

There may be lessons for us in this as we face the future and learn how to live and buy locally. The showing is open to everyone. You need not have come to the previous sessions. Popcorn may even be involved!
