The next meeting of the Newbury Book Discussion Group will be Thursday, July 11th, 7-8PM at the Tenney Memorial Library. We will be discussing Marie Benedict's book, "The Personal Librarian." Written in conjunction with Victoria Murray, this novel is a part of her series of historical fiction excavating the stories of important, complex and fascinating women from the past.
As described on Goodreads, this book tells the "remarkable, little-known story of Belle da Costa Greene, J. P. Morgan's personal librarian—who became one of the most powerful women in New York despite the dangerous secret she kept in order to make her dreams come true." Copies of the book are available through interlibrary loan from your local library. Everyone is welcome to join our group. For future reference, we will be reading "The Book of Goose" by Yiyun Li for our meeting on August 1st.
