The Bristol 4th of July committee is getting ready for another Independence Day celebration, including the parade on the morning of the 4th. The theme of the parade this year is 'BEACH PARTY'. Parade floats can be a great way to advertise your business or organization, sports teams, upcoming events or just for fun! Participants can choose to be judged for the opportunity to win monetary prizes. Judging will be based on the use of the theme, patriotic representation, and overall creativity and presentation. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, in the amounts of $600, $300 and $100.
This year we will also bring back The Battle of Bands, a friendly competition for bands during the parade. All bands that would like to participate will have the chance to win a cash prize of $500. We welcome bands of any genre, including musical only or with vocals. It will be open to all ages. The bands will be included in the parade procession and can either be a walking group or on a float. Judging will take place at the 4th of July committee booth in the park. The community and parade spectator's votes will determine the winning band.
