I will be leading a yin yoga class at 4 pm this coming Sunday (June 9th) at Peace of Mind Pilates in the Essex Experience. This class is geared for all fitness levels and everyone is welcome.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced, meditative practice focusing on deep tissue stretching and joint health. It involves holding passive poses for extended periods, typically between 3-5 minutes, allowing the body to relax and target the connective tissues, such as ligaments, tendons and fascia. This deep stretching improves flexibility and joint mobility, making it an excellent complement to more active forms of exercise. Yin yoga also promotes mental calmness and stress relief by encouraging mindfulness and introspection. The extended holds and gentle nature of the poses enhance circulation and energy flow, supporting overall physical and emotional well-being.
