For as long as we humans have been living, laughing, and loving on this crazy old orb, we've been creating art. It has sustained us in times of trouble, it has decorated our lives, and when we excavate lost civilizations, it's what remains. With all the recent natural events around the world that have caused concern and the beginning of a global awareness of how we are impacting the world around us it felt like a good time to celebrate the influence of nature on Art these past few thousand years.
BLOOM: The Nature of Art is a multimedia exhibition of decorative, applied, and visual arts that show the influence that nature has had on art. Curated by M. Sebastian Araujo and Rosa Pagano a Montreal Artist who will also have work in the show have brought together various forms of art from ancient Egypt, European decorative arts, photography, and contemporary art from Vermont artists will create a learning curve that hopefully will inspire us all.
On Sat June 15th there will be an Opening Reception from 1-4 PM in the gallery for the Art Show and also to invite the community to see the refurbished and restored 19th-century colored glass windows that have been placed back in their original place in Kelton Hall which is a building on the National Register of Places and is recognized as a good example of Greek Revival architecture still in use and nearly all its original detail and location in New England.
Both Events are being sponsored by the Montgomery Center for the Arts which is located in Historic Kelton Hall.
