The people of Burma (Myanmar) have lived under authoritarian rule for decades. There's a number of them who now live in Burlington thanks to the Refugee Resettlement program.

Delicious, healthy noodles are part of their mainstay diet and every year they hold a benefit, selling noodles, sending every penny they raise back to Burma. This Saturday June 8 is the date and it's held at First Baptist Church (side door). It is takeout, a box of noodles (enough for 2 unless you're really hungry) plus a dessert. (And they're even better the next day!). They do it by donation. This is a benefit for oppressed, endangered people living in poverty and fear every day of their lives.
