The Duxbury Historical Society is presenting acclaimed historical crime writer Alex Hortis, author of The Mob and the City: The Hidden History of How the Mafia Captured New York, on June 19th at 6:30 PM at the Waterbury Congregational Church (8 North Main St, Waterbury, VT). Hortis will be speaking about "THE MOB & STONEWALL: Unraveling the Mafia's Influence in the 1969 Uprising." The Burlington-based musical duo, The Champlain Shoregasm, will perform at 6:00 pm to welcome attendees. The event which recognizes Pride Month is free to the public, with donations welcome. Donations benefit the Duxbury Historical Society which is restoring and preserving two historic buildings that will be used as a community meeting house and archives. Ticket reservations are recommended and are available online at http://duxburyvt.com.
