This Thursday, October 23rd (5:30pm-7:30pm), over 16 statewide partners have organized a community discussions about brain development, family support and stability, and early childhood systems. The discussion follows a sneak peek of the powerful new The Raising of America documentary. Set to be released by PBS next spring, The Raising of America takes an in-depth look at how a strong start for all of our children leads to greater individual success and a more prosperous and equitable society.
Who should attend?
If youre a parent, school board member, school administrator, educator, selectboard member, business owner, clergy or lay leader, healthcare professional, city/town manager, legislator, sit on a planning commission or are interested in creating lasting change for Vermonts children, this event is for you to attend!
Why you should attend:
- Kindergarten readiness: 40-50% of Vermonts children enter kindergarten unprepared.
- Times have changed: 72% of children under the age of six have all of their parents in the workplace, which means theyre likely in care outside of the home up to 40 hours a week.
A stellar panel of compelling thinkers will bring different perspectives and experiences to the tablebusiness leaders, parents, educators, providers and pediatricians. Our local event will feature:
