Town Meeting for Herbicide Use in Lake Eden

Past event
Jun 8, 2024, 10 AM to 12 PM

Please attend the meeting this Saturday at 10am at Eden Central School to discuss the use of ProcellaCOR in Lake Eden to control Eurasian Milfoil. This meeting is most likely a sales pitch so it's important to have both sides represented. We need to ask many important questions such as:

-Selective targeting? Not possible so how many other species are actually at risk?
-What are the health concerns for swimming, fishing and drinking the water?
-What are the potential dangers to the native species, aquatic life, birds and plants? Also, planted gardens along the shoreline or downstream?
-How long will this herbicide be used?
-What will be the cost over time? If prices increase, have we become reliant on the product? How effective is this product even?
-How long has ProcellaCOR been around to possibly understand its long-term effects?
-What will we do about other invasive species in the future, like Japanese Knotweed? Will we always be adding other herbicides for every new problem? How would combining them in the future look? When is enough enough?

This is about setting a precedent of how we want our Lake to be managed now and in the future. Please attend!
