Join us in the pollinator and herb gardens of New Haven Congregational Church for hands-on, progressive Christian faith camps for children ages 6-9, from 9am-1 pm each day. Stories, art, and singing are woven into a lively exploration of faith just right for kids, with a focus on love of the Earth and Creation Justice. Camps are led by Rev. Abigail Diehl-Noble, pastor and experienced Waldorf teacher, with youth volunteers. Each session is limited to 12 campers. Cost: $100 suggested; pay what you can afford.
We are offering two sessions this summer:
July 8-12: Herbal Creations. Make herbal remedies and crafts, hear stories of creation from Jewish and Christian traditions, and paint in watercolor the days of Creation.
July 29-August 2: Naamah's Garden Drama Camp. Join a crew to act in and produce a short play based on the Jewish legend of Naamah, Noah's wife, who saved seeds and replanted Earth's garden after the flood. Camp on Friday goes until the parent performance at 3 pm.
Youth ages 12-15 with interest in faith and love of kids are invited to apply for a Counselor-in-Training position with a small stipend.
