Northeast Kingdom Waste Management District (NEKWMD) will be having a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event at the Derby recycling station from 9a-1p on Saturday, June 1st. This event is free and open to all residents of the district. HHW will only be accepted at the Derby station during this event, no acceptations. No after-hours dumping!
The NEKWMD reserves the right to terminate any collection event early once we are at storage capacity. We limit HHW disposal to 25 gallons per resident during events. No appointment is needed, just come on over June 1st between the hours of 9a-1p.
Do you have more than 25 gallons? Can't make the Saturday event? Make an appointment with us! Call us at 802-626-3532 to make one for a Tuesday or Thursday here at NEKWMD in Lyndonville. We offer scheduled time slots from 8:30a until 3p every Tuesday and Thursday until October 3rd for residents of the district. All HHW collection events and appointments are free, no charge to residents. Noone should ever dump any of this hazardous waste down the drain or on the land. Don't do it! To determine if a product in your home is hazardous, check the label for the following words- poisonous, toxic, corrosive, flammable, reactive, danger, caution, or simply, hazardous. No label?
