In May 2022 composer-pianist David Feurzeig embarked on Play in Every Town: 252 free concerts in each of Vermont's towns to confront climate change through the power of community and music. With this project David will become the first musician to perform in every Vermont municipality. Rather than fly thoughout the world performing as he had in the past he is traveling here in Vermont to bring attention to interrelated issues of travel and climate change.
Fuerzeig, a professor of music at UVM, specializes in genre-defying performances of an astonishing variety of musical styles, from ancient and classical to jazz, avant'garde and popular traditions creating programs that will change how you hear all kinds of music.
On this concert, Fuerzeig will join Charles Cavanaugh and Michael Farmer for a set of Scandinavian turnes. Historical links with the era when the Red Brick Meeting house was built and the church's Kimball upright piano (newly tuned) was manufactured.
Concert is free admission. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Westford Conservation Commission in spirit of Westford's preservation of climate preservation and open spaces.
