Montpelier, VT | Saturday, June 15, 7:00 PM | Sunday, June 16, 4:00 PM – In celebration of our 30th Anniversary, the Montpelier Community Gospel Choir is proud to present our First Annual Juneteenth Concerts, at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier on Saturday, June 15, at 7:00 PM, and Sunday, June 16, at 4:00 PM.
The Saturday concert will be live-streamed for increased accessibility (virtual ticket required), and a Reception and Silent Auction will follow the Sunday concert.
Our "Grateful" concerts in honor of Juneteenth will celebrate the music of Hezekiah Walker along with songs by Moses Hogan, Walter Hawkins, and more. Join us as we give thanks for the hope, joy, and inspiration of Gospel music in our lives and our community. The Acappella Choir will open the concerts, then our Mass Choir will make joyful noise together with The Band composed of Central Vermont's finest musicians. Masks are optional, but dancing shoes are required!
The Montpelier Community Gospel Choir strives to celebrate the gospel's rich heritage, and its power to move people spiritually creating a profound sense of community where we share prayers of healing, justice, equity, and love for ourselves and our world. For this, we are grateful.
