Wednesday Night Hearing: Congress St. Painted Shoulders/Bike Lanes?

Past event
Oct 22, 2014, 7 to 8:30 PM

An informal public hearing will be held on Wednesday 22 October 2014 at 7:00 P.M. in the Community Meeting Room of the Town’s Offices at 43 Portland Street in Morrisville regarding a proposal to paint 4 foot wide shoulders on each side of Congress Street that can be used as bike lanes. The Morristown Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee hopes that these painted shoulders will reduce the speed of traffic on Congress Street, while also offering a safer and more inviting way for residents of this neighborhood to bicycle into downtown or out towards Washington Highway & Randolph Road. The Morristown Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee received a grant for the striping of the shoulders / bike lanes, so there is no taxpayer cost to this endeavor. These painted shoulders will also not block or hinder any parking on the west side of Congress Street.

The Morristown Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee would like to hear your thoughts about adding painted shoulders / bike lanes to Congress Street in the spring. We hope to see some of you on Wednesday the 22nd to discuss this project. Thank you!
